it is “aggressive… and whirring” (Bandcamp) yet “complex and rich” (Bandcloud), the output of multifaceted musician Andrew Noseworthy (he/they) coalesces wide-ranging styles and distinct creative practices. Often highlighted by “fascinating electric guitar acrobatics” (Take Effect Reviews), his genre-fluid projects and community-focused collaborations span composing and arranging for contemporary classical ensembles; fronting hardcore and experimental rock groups in DIY venues; commissioning and premiering new works with the electric guitar; backing indie-pop artists at clubs; scoring music for dance and film; audio production roles and educational initiatives. Much of his work is intimately tied to locality and accessibility, especially when considering spaces that transcend the traditional physical performance and listening environments. Andrew is a founding member of several projects, including the DIY label people | places | records, hardcore duo this place is actually the worst, the Backlined Collective guitar quartet, and the Heart Map Ambient Ensemble. He is a recent member of long-running Toronto-based ensemble ContaQt (+ Evan Ziporyn), and co-runs the Intersection Music & Arts Festival, both with Jerry Pergolesi. He regularly performs with Toronto-based artists Kamra, Sam-r, Lyubov Kay, and the experimental comedy troupe Radio Haha. Andrew is on faculty at Community Music Schools of Toronto, and as a mentor has notably worked with organizations such as the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music and the Chamber Music Society of Mississauga. He holds degrees from Western University (PhD), NYU Steinhardt (MM) and Memorial University (Bmus, honours). click here for a CV https://www.anmusiccomposer.com/events daily 0.75 2021-09-01 https://www.anmusiccomposer.com/press daily 0.75 2024-10-14 https://www.anmusiccomposer.com/contact daily 0.75 2021-09-05 https://www.anmusiccomposer.com/people-places-records daily 0.75 2024-06-24 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/1630530078667-P7ELBZ8YDJ6FX3PE6CJY/aeryn.jpeg people | places | records https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/64d78d0a-b59a-4c23-83e9-032d8643ec67/%5BYaz+Lancaster%5D+by+Felix+Walworth+02.jpg people | places | records https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/19ed1e03-6d3d-488e-839d-77bf3a81b43b/JBD_0785.jpg people | places | records https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/1630530713775-8VOZ4EMEQ3J938QM1RZU/117122823_1477342135783455_670454122774319653_n.png people | places | records - Make it stand out Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. https://www.anmusiccomposer.com/this-place-is-actually-the-worst daily 0.75 2021-09-10 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/256d1907-3f87-4a46-90b2-585d179fa56d/61928117_2733176973376229_7308501743136931840_n.jpeg this place is actually the worst https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/8bd90774-eeae-415f-babd-c4086e8720a1/61485224_2733176873376239_8834438997032828928_n.jpeg this place is actually the worst https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/34f8c9d9-2837-4a47-99cf-87a3bb2d873f/61920711_2733176800042913_1869254013002711040_n.jpeg this place is actually the worst https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/4299341a-e9e7-4fc1-8033-9e5dea194ce0/49344720_961710224040274_9014322174533566464_n.jpg this place is actually the worst https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/1630533103815-SUAWXPBO6W88XB3ZNOTV/tpiatw%2B1.jpg this place is actually the worst https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/955d027b-d887-400d-a1b1-e725677bff51/35629042_471179353325563_543660653999554560_n.jpg this place is actually the worst https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/b26f5f95-efb1-4809-bb42-2f4e3318f2a3/35156843_1873591552945481_2879535053799424_n.jpg this place is actually the worst https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/3e918dfe-8369-4d2c-a8ea-bf0bb4fb7028/tpiatw.jpeg this place is actually the worst https://www.anmusiccomposer.com/mentorship daily 0.75 2021-09-19 https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/612e9d9b0900bf7dff744886/1630873416285-8P4YR190CQ5INA3JATP4/Andew---Blog-Photo.jpg Mentorship - Teaching + Mentorship Through my work as an educator, I strive to foster equitable spaces for community and collaboration.
