Teaching + Mentorship

Through my work as an educator, I strive to foster equitable spaces for community and collaboration. My engagements span over a decade of private guitar, theory, and composition teaching; distance and outreach learning; adjudicating; university-level theory, ear-training, and electronic music positions; and frequently guest lecturing at festivals, workshops, and academic courses. Focusing on transparent and open communication among students, I provide them with support, guidance, and relevant skills to pursue their own interests or goals.

I learned that for students who believe they had no relationship to [course] material, or no space within it, that making that space for them to feel engaged was the way to move forward when teaching the material.
